Meet Dr. Clyde C. Wilson Jr., the Associate Vice President for Access and Community Impact and the Director of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. Dr. Wilson brings a wealth of experience to the table. His educational journey includes a Doctorate of Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a focus on Higher Education Administration, along with a Master of Arts in International Studies, a Masters in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration.

 

Dr. Wilson's career has seen him in administrative roles at numerous institutions such as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina State University, and Bethune Cookman University over the past 18 years. His contributions have not gone unnoticed, with numerous awards and recognition highlighting his impact and tenure.

 

Driven by a passion for creating opportunities, Dr. Wilson actively champions undergraduate research not only within the McNair Community but also across Oklahoma State University. His commitment extends to leadership roles, including co-chairing the Governance Committee for the McNair Association of Professionals (MAP) organization. In the broader TRIO Community, Dr. Wilson's impact is notable, having recently completed a three-year term, progressing from President-Elect to President, and concluding as Past-President of the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (ODSA). Concurrently, he played key roles on the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs Board of Directors.

 

Dr. Wilson shines in Stillwater, proudly boasting the esteemed Leaders Under 40 Young Community Leader Award and the Overall Lead Orange Staff Award at OSU for his impactful leadership in positive social change. A proud alum of Leadership Stillwater, he dedicates his passion to volunteering with Stillwater Public Schools and holds a crucial role in the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Wilson's influence extends far beyond academia, contributing significantly to the dynamic tapestry of Stillwater's vibrant community life.

 

Driven by Maya Angelou's wisdom, Dr. Wilson believes in creating lasting impressions. His ability to inspire students to achieve the extraordinary is a testament to this philosophy. Outside academia, you'll find him cherishing family moments, exploring new hobbies, and embracing life's journey.
